How should household modular contactors be wired and installed?

2024-05-11

For electrical equipment, the key to whether it can extend its service life lies in whether it is installed correctly, whether it is used properly, and whether it is maintained in a timely manner. Therefore, the installation, use and maintenance of electrical equipment are extremely important. The following are instructions for the installation and maintenance of household modular contactors.

1. Precautions for wiring and installation of household modular contactors

1. Before installation and use, check whether the rated voltage of the coil is consistent with the actual use.

2. Before use, wipe off the anti-rust grease or rust on the iron core with gasoline. Avoid sticking during use. Resulting in a power outage that cannot be released.

3. During installation, it is generally installed vertically, and the inclination angle should not be too large, not exceeding 5°, otherwise it will affect the action performance of the contactor.

4. During installation, especially when connecting wires, pay attention to cleaning up the fine wires to avoid falling into the contactor, causing the contactor to jam and causing the coil to burn.

5. When connecting wires, be sure not to expose the metal parts of the wires to the air to avoid oxidation. Tighten each screw to avoid poor wire contact due to vibration.

6. When installing, the two sides with holes should be placed on the upper and lower sides to facilitate heat dissipation.

2. Use and maintenance of household modular contactors

Under normal circumstances, household modular contactor maintenance is divided into running maintenance and non-working maintenance, which are explained below.

1. Runtime maintenance

(1) During normal use, check whether the load current is within the normal range.

(2) Observe whether the relevant indicator lights match the normal indicator lights of the circuit.

(3) Whether the sound is normal during operation and whether there is any noise caused by poor contact.

(4) Check whether the contact points are burned.

(5) Is there any condition in the surrounding environment that may cause poor operation of the contactor, such as moisture, excessive dust, excessive vibration, etc.

2. Maintenance when not running

(1) When out of use, clean the contactor regularly to keep the contactor clean. In particular, whether the connecting wire is secure, whether there is any looseness, whether the insulation of the connecting wire is damaged, etc.

(2) Maintenance of the household modular contactor contact system: such as whether the contact is reliable for dynamic and static electric shocks, whether the middle spring is normal, and whether there is any jamming. Check whether the contacts are loose, whether there are signs of burning, and whether the pressed contacts make flexible and reliable contact.

(3) Strictly measure the phase-to-phase insulation resistance of the modular contactor, and the resistance value is not less than 10MΩ

(4) Maintenance of the contactor coil, such as whether there is open welding, burning, etc., and whether the insulation around the coil is discolored, etc.

(5) Maintenance of the iron core: It can be disassembled and inspected when the power is off. Generally, the contactor of the iron core is checked, mainly if there is abnormal sound during operation, because the iron core is loose or rusty, it is also the contactor that makes abnormal noise. One of the reasons for the noise. At the same time, you can also observe whether the short-circuit ring is damaged and replace it in time if necessary.

In short, how to wire and install household modular contactors, correct wiring, installation and maintenance can greatly reduce contactor failures and ensure the safe and normal operation of the equipment.
